۞ When the sky is torn apart, 1 hearing and obeying its Lord, as it must do; 2 and when the earth is leveled, 3 And it unburdens itself of all that is in it, and becomes empty. 4 And listens and obeys its Lord, and it must do so; 5 O man, indeed you have to surely run towards your Lord, and to meet him. 6 Whoever is given the Record in his right hand 7 will be easy, 8 And will return to his family in joy! 9 And whoever is given his record of deeds behind his back – 10 He will cry out for destruction 11 They will suffer the heat of hell fire. 12 He once lived among his family joyfully; 13 Verily he imagined that he would not be back. 14 But yes! Indeed, his Lord was ever of him, Seeing. 15 Nay; I swear by the twilight; 16 The Night and its Homing; 17 and the moon when it grows full, 18 [That] you will surely experience state after state. 19 What is the matter with them that they do not accept faith? 20 and when the Koran is recited to them they do not bow? ۩ 21 In fact the disbelievers keep denying. 22 And Allah is most knowing of what they keep within themselves. 23 So give them tidings of a painful doom, 24 Except those who believed and did good deeds – for them is a reward that will never end. 25
