The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ The Merciful 1 Bestowed the Qur'an, 2 He created man. 3 He has imparted unto him articulate thought and speech. 4 The sun and the moon are made punctual. 5 And the plants and the trees prostrate (for Him). 6 And the sky He hath uplifted; and He hath set the measure, 7 That you not transgress within the balance. 8 but weigh things equitably and skimp not in the balance. 9 And the earth He laid [out] for the creatures. 10 There exists all kinds of fruits, palm-trees with sheathed blossoms, 11 grain with its husk and aromatic herbs. 12 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you deny? 13 He created man (Adam) from sounding clay like the clay of pottery. 14 and jinn from the many colored flames of fire. 15 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 16 Lord of the Two Easts, Lord of the Two Wests, 17 Which of the powers of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 18 He has made the two seas to flow freely (so that) they meet together: 19 Between them is a barrier which they cannot pass. 20 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 21 From both of them emerge pearl and coral. 22 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 23 And His are the Ships sailing smoothly through the seas, lofty as mountains: 24 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 25
