Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ THE CONCRETE REALITY. 1 What is the Sure Reality? 2 And what have you understood, how tremendous the true event is! 3 The tribes of Thamud and 'Ad denied that disaster would strike them: 4 Then as to Samood, they were destroyed by an excessively severe punishment. 5 and as for Ad, they were destroyed by a wind clamorous, 6 He made it rage against them seven nights and eight days in succession: so that thou couldst see the (whole) people lying prostrate in its (path), as they had been roots of hollow palm-trees tumbled down! 7 Canst thou (O Muhammad) see any remnant of them? 8 And Pharaoh, and those before him, and the Cities Overthrown, committed habitual Sin. 9 And they disobeyed the messenger of their Lord, therefor did He grip them with a tightening grip. 10 Indeed, when the water overflowed, We carried your ancestors in the sailing ship 11 That We might make it unto you an admonition, and that it might be retained by the retaining ears. 12 So when the Trumpet will be blown, with a sudden single blow. 13 And the earth and the mountains are lifted and leveled with one blow - 14 On that Day shall the (Great) Event come to pass. 15 And the heaven will split [open], for that Day it is infirm. 16 And the angels shall be on the sides thereof; and above them eight shall bear on that day your Lord's power. 17 On that Day you shall be brought to judgment: not [even] the most hidden of your deeds will remain hidden. 18 Then as for him who will be given his Record in his right hand will say: "Take, read my Record! 19 Indeed, I was certain that I would be meeting my account." 20 Then he shall find himself in a life of bliss; 21 in a lofty paradise, 22 Its [fruit] to be picked hanging near. 23 "Eat ye and drink ye, with full satisfaction; because of the (good) that ye sent before you, in the days that are gone!" 24 However, those who will receive the books of the records of their deeds in their left hands will say, "We wish that this record had never been given to us 25 “And had never come to know my account!” 26 “Alas, if only it had been just death.” 27 My wealth hath not availed me, 28 and my authority has been destroyed' 29 (It will be said): "Seize him and fetter him, 30 Then in the Scorch roast him 31 then in a chain of seventy cubits' length insert him! 32 Verily he was wont not to believe in Allah, the Mighty. 33 nor did he feel any urge to feed the needy, 34 That is why he has no friend today, 35 Nor any food except filth from the washing of wounds, 36 which none but the sinners eat!" 37
