The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the Sky and the Night-Visitant (therein);- 1 What could let you know what the nightly comer is! 2 It is the star that pierces through [life's] darkness: 3 [for] no human being has ever been left unguarded. 4 So let man consider of what he was created; 5 He was created from ejaculated water 6 issuing from between the loins [of man] and the pelvic arch [of woman]. 7 Indeed Allah is Able to return him. 8 On the day when hidden thoughts shall be searched out. 9 He will have no strength or helper. 10 By the Firmament which returns (in its round), 11 by earth splitting with verdure, 12 the Quran is the final word, 13 And it is no joke. 14 They are devising a guile, 15 and I too am devising a guile. 16 Give respite to the disbelievers and leave them alone for a while. 17
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
