Have not the unbelievers then beheld that the heavens and the earth were a mass all sewn up, and then We unstitched them and of water fashioned every living thing? Will they not believe? 30 We placed firm mountains on earth lest it would shake them away. We made wide roads for them so that they might have the right guidance. 31 And We made the sky a protected ceiling, but they, from its signs, are turning away. 32 And He it is Who created the night and the day and the sun and the moon; all (orbs) travel along swiftly in their celestial spheres. 33 We granted not to any man before thee permanent life (here): if then thou shouldst die, would they live permanently? 34 Every soul has to experience the taste of death. We test you with both hardships and blessings. In the end you will all return to Us. 35 And when those who disbelieve see you, [O Muhammad], they take you not except in ridicule, [saying], "Is this the one who insults your gods?" And they are, at the mention of the Most Merciful, disbelievers. 36 Man is made of inordinate haste. We will show you Our signs, then you will not desire to hasten (the punishment). 37 Yet they say: "When will the promised threat come to pass, if you speak the truth?" 38 If only those who disbelieved knew (the time) when they will not be able to ward off the Fire from their faces, nor from their backs; and they will not be helped. 39 In fact it will suddenly come upon them, therefore shocking them, and they will not be able to repel it nor will they be given respite. 40 Other messengers have been mocked before you, but those who scoffed were overwhelmed by the very thing they had mocked. 41
