3/4 Hizb 45
< random >
(In the days of old), Noah cried to Us, and We are the best to hear prayer. 75 And We rescued him and his household from the great calamity. 76 and We made his offspring the only survivors. 77 We perpetuated his praise in later generations. 78 "Peace upon Noah among the worlds." 79 Even so We recompense the good-doers; 80 Verily he was of Our bondmen believing. 81 Then the rest we overwhelmed in the Flood. 82 ۞ And most surely Ibrahim followed his way. 83 When he came to his Lord with a sound heart 84 When he said to his father and his people: What is it that you worship? 85 A lie-- gods besides Allah-- do you desire? 86 What is then your idea about the Lord of the worlds? 87 Then he looked up at the stars (they worshipped), 88 and said: “I am sick.” 89 And they turned their backs and went away from him. 90 Then turned he to their gods and said: Will ye not eat? 91 What is the matter with you that you do not speak? 92 And he turned upon them smiting them with his right hand. 93 So the disbelievers came running towards him. 94 He said: "Worship you that which you (yourselves) carve? 95 While Allah created you and that which you do?" 96 They spoke among themselves: “Build him a pyre and then throw him into the furnace.” 97 So they plotted a plot against him, but We made them the lowest. 98 And he said: "I am going away to my Lord who will show me the way. 99 Lord, grant me a righteous son.” 100 So We gave him the glad tidings of a forbearing boy. 101 And when he reached with him [the age of] exertion, he said, "O my son, indeed I have seen in a dream that I [must] sacrifice you, so see what you think." He said, "O my father, do as you are commanded. You will find me, if Allah wills, of the steadfast." 102 Then when the twain had submitted themselves and he had prostrated him upon his temple. 103 We cried out: “O Abraham, 104 You have indeed shown the truth of the vision; surely thus do We reward the doers of good: 105 Lo! that verily was a clear test. 106 So, We ransomed him with a mighty sacrifice, 107 And We left for him among the later folk (the salutation): 108 Peace be on Abraham. 109 Even so We recompense the good-doers; 110 He was one of Our believing worshipers. 111 And We gave him the glad tidings of Ishaq, a Herald of the Hidden, from among those who deserve Our proximity. 112 And We blessed him and Isaac. Among the offspring of the two some did good and some plainly wronged themselves. 113
