Elucidated (Fussilat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Ha-Mim. 1 [This is] a revelation from the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful - 2 a Book whose revelations are well expounded, an Arabic Quran for people who possess knowledge, 3 Good tidings and a warning. But most of them turn away so that they hear not. 4 They say: “Our hearts are securely wrapped up against what you call us to, and in our ears is a heaviness, and between you and us there is a veil. So act; we too are acting.” 5 Say thou: I am only a human being like unto you; only it is revealed unto me that your God is but One God, wherefore take the straight path unto Him and seek forgiveness of Him. And woe be unto the associators. 6 Those who do not give zakah, and in the Hereafter they are disbelievers. 7 For those who believe and work deeds of righteousness is a reward that will never fail. 8
