Elucidated (Fussilat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
Ha. Mim. 1 This (Qur’an) is sent down from the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. 2 A Book, the verses of which are distinguished, an Arabic Koran for a nation who know. 3 one bearing good news and warning. Yet most of them turned away and are not wont to give heed. 4 And say: "Our hearts are immured against what you call us to. There is a deafness in our ears, and a veil lies between us and you. So act (your way), we are acting (ours)." 5 (Muhammad), say, "I am a mere mortal like you. I have received a revelation that your Lord is the only One. So be up-right and obedient to Him and seek forgiveness from Him. Woe to the pagans, 6 Those who do not give the obligatory charity, and who deny the Hereafter. 7 But those who believe and do the right, will have a continuing reward. 8
