Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ Say, [O Muhammad], "It has been revealed to me that a group of the jinn listened and said, 'Indeed, we have heard an amazing Qur'an. 1 'It guides to the Right Path, and we have believed therein, and we shall never join (in worship) anything with our Lord (Allah). 2 He exalted be the Majesty of our Lord, who has neither taken to Himself a wife, nor a son! 3 "'And [now we know] that the foolish among us were wont to say outrageous things about God, 4 and that [we were mistaken when] we thought that neither man nor [any of] the invisible forces would ever tell a lie about God. 5 But there were certain men from mankind who would take refuge with certain males from the jinn and they increased them in tyranny. 6 'And they thought as you thought, that Allah will not send any Messenger (to mankind or jinns). 7 and that “we tried to pry (the secrets of) the heaven, but we found it full of terrible guards and shooting meteors”; 8 We sat in observatories to listen; but any one who listened found a shooting star in wait for him. 9 we cannot tell if this bodes evil to those who dwell on earth or whether their Lord intends to guide them. 10 ‘And among us some are virtuous and some are the other type; we are split into several branches.’ 11 'And we think that we cannot escape (from the punishment of) Allah in the earth, nor can we escape (from the punishment) by flight. 12 When we heard the Guidance, we believed in it, and whosoever believes in his Lord shall fear neither shortage nor injustice. 13 and that “among us some are Muslims (Those who have submitted to Allah), and some of us are deviant. So those who became Muslims found the Right Course; 14 ‘And as for the unjust – they are the fuel of hell.’” 15 And had they kept to the path surely We would have watered them with rain plenteous. 16 so that We might try them through this bounty. Whoso turns away from the remembrance of his Lord, He will cause him to suffer a grievous chastisement; 17 All places of worship are for God; so do not invoke any one with God. 18 When the devotee of God stood up to invoke Him (the jinns) crowded upon him (to listen). 19
