The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
When the sun shall be darkened, 1 when the stars shall be thrown down, 2 and when the mountains are moved, 3 And when the camels big with young are abandoned, 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together; 5 And when the seas rise, 6 When souls are reunited (with the bodies) 7 and when the girl-child buried alive shall be asked: 8 for what crime she had been slain, 9 When the scrolls are laid open; 10 And when the sky is stripped away 11 And when Hellfire is set ablaze 12 And when the Garden is brought nigh, 13 then, each soul shall know what it has produced. 14 So I swear by the retreating stars - 15 Who move straight and stop. 16 and the night that falls, 17 And by the dawn as it brightens; 18 that the Quran is the word of the honorable angelic, mighty Messenger 19 Owner of power, and high rank with (Allah) the Lord of the Throne, 20 there he is obeyed and held trustworthy. 21 And (O people!) your companion is not one possessed; 22 Assuredly he beheld him in the horizon manifest. 23 He is not avid of the Unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of a satan accursed. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 That is but an advice to the entire creation! 27 for everyone of you who wishes to follow the Straight Way; 28 And you do not will except that Allah wills - Lord of the worlds. 29
