Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Hast thou received the story of the Enveloper? 1 On that day (many) faces will be downcast, 2 Laboring, toiling, 3 Entering into burning fire, 4 that is fueled from a tremendously hot fountain, 5 No food will there be for them but a bitter Dhari' 6 which neither sustains, nor satisfy hunger. 7 (Other) faces on that day shall be happy, 8 Glad with their endeavour (for their good deeds which they did in this world, along with the true Faith of Islamic Monotheism). 9 in a Garden on high, 10 Where they hear no idle speech, 11 with a flowing spring, 12 raised couches, 13 Goblets set, 14 and cushions arrayed 15 And rich carpets (all) spread out. 16 DO, THEN, they [who deny resurrection] never gaze at the clouds pregnant with water, [and observe] how they are created? 17 how the heavens are raised up high, 18 And the mountains – how they have been established? 19 and on the earth, how it is spread out? 20 So remind them (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)), you are only a one who reminds. 21 You are not over them a controller. 22 However, those who turn away and disbelieve, 23 Allah will punish him with direst punishment. 24 Verily, to Us will be their return; 25 then upon Us shall rest their reckoning. 26
