We gave the Book to Moses and gave him his brother Aaron as a minister. 35 And We command: "Go ye both, to the people who have rejected our Signs:" And those (people) We destroyed with utter destruction. 36 And the people of Noah - when they denied the messengers, We drowned them, and We made them for mankind a sign. And We have prepared for the wrongdoers a painful punishment. 37 To each of the tribes of Ad, Thamud, the settlers around the well and many generations in between 38 and unto each of them did We proffer lessons and each of them did We destroy with utter destruction. 39 And they [who now deny Our messages] must surely have come across that town which was rained upon by a rain of evil: have they, then, never beheld it [with their minds eye]? But nay, they would not believe in resurrection! 40 When they see you they take you only in jest: "Is this the one whom God has sent as messenger? 41 "He would have nearly misled us from our aliha (gods), had it not been that we were patient and constant in their worship!" And they will know when they see the torment, who it is that is most astray from the (Right) Path! 42 How can you be the guardian of those who have chosen their own desires as their Lord? 43 Or do you think that most of them hear or reason? They are not except like livestock. Rather, they are [even] more astray in [their] way. 44
