▼ 56 The Inevitable
Al-Waaqe'ah 3 of 3
۞ Then I swear by the setting of the stars, 75 and this is indeed a mighty oath, if only you knew – 76 that this is indeed a noble Quran, 77 [conveyed unto man] in a well-guarded divine writ 78 Which none toucheth save the purified, 79 a sending down from the Lord of all the Worlds. 80 Then is it to this statement that you are indifferent 81 do you make it your provision to belie it? 82 Why is it not then that when it (soul) comes up to the throat, 83 And you are at that time looking on - 84 and We are nearer to him than you, although you cannot see Us -- 85 Then why, if you are not indebted (to Us for life), 86 Bring back the soul (to its body), if you are truthful? 87 Thus if he is of those brought nigh, 88 Then [for him is] rest and bounty and a garden of pleasure. 89 And if he was of the companions of the right, 90 he will be greeted with, "Peace be to you," by those on the Right. 91 But if he (the dying person) be of the denying (of the Resurrection), the erring (away from the Right Path of Islamic Monotheism), 92 a welcome of burning despair [awaits him in the life to come,] 93 and the heat of hell fire. 94 Verily, this is the Very Truth and Certainly. 95 Therefore glorify the name of your Lord, the Great. 96
God the Almighty always says the truth.
