The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the sky, (displaying) the Zodiacal Signs; 1 by the Promised Day, 2 And by the witnessing day (i.e. Friday), and by the witnessed day [i.e. the day of 'Arafat (Hajj) the ninth of Dhul-Hijjah]; 3 THEY DESTROY [but] themselves, they who would ready a pit 4 of fire fiercely burning [for all who have attained to faith]! 5 When they sat by it, 6 witnessing what they were doing. 7 And they ill-treated them for no other reason than that they believed in Allah, Exalted in Power, Worthy of all Praise!- 8 to whom belongs the kingdom of the heavens and the earth. God is witness over all things. 9 Those who persecute the believers, men and women, and then have not repented, there awaits them the chastisement of Gehenna, and there awaits them the chastisement of the burning. 10 But those who believe and do good deeds shall be rewarded with gardens watered by flowing rivers. That is the supreme triumph. 11 The grip of your Lord is indeed severe, 12 It is He who creates all things and causes them to return. 13 And He is the Oft-Forgiving, Full of Loving-Kindness, 14 Lord of the Throne, the All-glorious, 15 and the Most Effective in His decision. 16 Hast thou received the story of the hosts, 17 Of the Fir'awn and the Thamud? 18 In fact the disbelievers are in denial. 19 although Allah surrounds them. 20 What is revealed to you is certainly a glorious Quran 21 inscribed on a well-guarded Tablet. 22
