The people of Al-Hijr denied Our apostles; 80 We also gave them Our Signs, yet they turned away from them. 81 They used to hew dwellings in the mountains to live in security. 82 and so the blast [of Our punishment] overtook them at early morn, 83 All that they had acquired was of no avail to them. 84 And We created not the heavens and the earth and all that is between them except with truth, and the Hour is surely coming, so overlook (O Muhammad SAW), their faults with gracious forgiveness. [This was before the ordainment of Jihad holy fighting in Allah's Cause]. 85 verily, thy Sustainer is the all-knowing Creator of all things! 86 And certainly We have given you seven of the oft-repeated (verses) and the grand Quran. 87 Look not with your eyes ambitiously at what We have bestowed on certain classes of them (the disbelievers), nor grieve over them. And lower your wings for the believers (be courteous to the fellow-believers). 88 And say thou: verily I! I am a plain warner. 89 Like as We sent down on the dividers 90 those who had split up their Qur'an into pieces. 91 So, by your Lord, We would most certainly question them all, 92 For all that they used to do. 93 Proclaim openly what you are commanded, and avoid the polytheists. 94 We suffice you against those who mock, 95 and believe other things to be equal to God. They will soon know the truth. 96 And assuredly We know that thou straitenest thy breast by that which they say. 97 Therefore proclaim the Purity of your Lord with praise, and be of those who prostrate. 98 And serve thy Lord till the Inevitable cometh unto thee. 99
