And the chiefs of his people who disbelieved and called the meeting of the hereafter a lie, and whom We had given plenty to enjoy in this world's life, said: This is nothing but a mortal like yourselves, eating of what you eat from and drinking of what you drink. 33 "If ye obey a man like yourselves, behold, it is certain ye will be lost. 34 Does he promise you that when you die and have become dust and bones, that you will be brought forth again? 35 ۞ Away, away with that you are promised! 36 There is nothing but our present life; we die, and we live, and we shall not be raised up. 37 He is but a man who hath fabricated against God a lie, and in him we are not going to be believers. 38 (The apostle prayed): "O Lord, deliver me, for they accuse me of lies." 39 He said, 'In a little they will be remorseful.' 40 And the Cry seized them justly, and We made them as scum; so away with the people of the evildoers! 41 After them We brought another generation into existence. 42 no nation outstrips its term, nor do they put it back. 43 Then We sent Our Messengers in succession. Whenever a Messenger came to his people they rejected him, calling him a liar. Thereupon, We made each people to follow the other (to its doom), reducing them to mere tales (of the past). Scourged be the people who do not believe! 44 Then We sent Moses and his brother Aaron with Our tokens and a clear warrant 45 To Pharaoh and his establishment, but they were arrogant and were a haughty people. 46 and they said, 'What, shall we believe two mortals like ourselves, whose people are our servants?' 47 So they accused them of falsehood, and they became of those who were destroyed. 48 for, indeed, We had vouchsafed revelation unto Moses in order that they might find the right way. 49 And We made the son of Maryam (Mary) and his mother as a sign, And We gave them refuge on high ground, a place of rest, security and flowing streams. 50
