Messengers! Eat of that which is good and do good deeds; I have knowledge of the things you do. 51 Your religion is but one religion -- and I am your only Lord, therefore, fear Me. 52 The people divided themselves into many sects, each with their own book and each happy with whatever they had. 53 So leave them in their error till a time. 54 Do they think that by all the wealth and offspring with which We provide them 55 We provide them with the means of competing with each other in virtuous deeds, but they do not realize this. 56 Surely those who tremble in fear of their Lord 57 Those who believe in the Signs of their Lord; 58 who associate none with their Lord in His Divinity, 59 who give, whatever they give in charity, with their hearts trembling at the thought that they are destined to return to their Lord; 60 Are the ones who hasten to goodness and outpace the others. 61 And We do not burden any soul beyond its capacity, and with Us is a Book* that speaks the truth, and they will not be wronged. (* The preserved tablet or the record of one’s deeds.) 62 Aye! their hearts are in bewilderment in respect thereof, and they have works beside that, of which they are workers. 63 But when We seize with the punishment those of them that live in ease, they groan. 64 Cry not for succor this day; surely you shall not be given help from Us. 65 “My verses were recited to you, so you used to turn back on your heels.” 66 In arrogance; talking nonsense about the Quran, and left him like one telling fables by night. 67 Do they not ponder over the Word (of Allah), or has anything (new) come to them that did not come to their fathers of old? 68 Or did they not know their Messenger, so they are toward him disacknowledging? 69 Do they say he is mad! No, he came to them with the truth, but most of them hate the truth. 70 If truth had followed their whims and desires, heavens and earth and all that lives in them would have been brought to ruin. Rather We have brought them their Reminder. Yet they keep avoiding their Reminder. 71 Do you (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) ask any fee from them? So the reward of your Lord is the best; and He is the Best Provider of Sustenance. 72 And verily, thou callest them onto a straight way 73 But those who do not believe in the Hereafter have indeed deviated from that path. 74 ۞ And if We have mercy upon them and remove the calamity which has befallen them, they would still stubbornly persist, wandering in their rebellion. 75 And indeed We seized them with punishment, but they humbled not themselves to their Lord, nor did they invoke (Allah) with submission to Him. 76 until We open before them a gate of harsh punishment and then they will be dumbfounded. 77
