Tell them the story of Abraham, 69 when he said to his father and his people, 'What do you serve?' 70 They said, "We worship idols and remain to them devoted." 71 He said: "Do they hear you, when you call (on them)? 72 Or do they profit you or cause you harm? 73 They said: "Nay, but we found our fathers doing so." 74 He said, “Do you see these (the idols) whom you worship?” 75 “You and your forefathers preceding you.” 76 They are enemies to me except the Lord of all the Worlds 77 Who hath created me, and He guideth me. 78 Who gives me food and drink, 79 "And when I am ill, it is He Who cures me; 80 Who will cause me to die and then will again restore me to life; 81 And who, I hope, will condone my faults on the Day of Judgement. 82 My Lord, give me judgment, and join me with the righteous. 83 "Grant me honourable mention on the tongue of truth among the latest (generations); 84 And place me among the inheritors of the Garden of Delight, 85 and forgive my father for he is among those who strayed, 86 And abase me not on the day when they are raised, 87 The day when neither wealth nor children will be of any avail 88 except for him who comes to God with a pure heart. 89 And Paradise will be brought near [that Day] to the righteous. 90 And Hell is brought near to the perverse' 91 And it shall be said to them: Where are those that you used to worship; 92 "Instead of Allah? Can they help you or (even) help themselves?" 93 Then they will be thrown on their faces into the (Fire), They and the Ghawun (devils, and those who were in error). 94 "And the whole hosts of Iblis together. 95 They shall say, as they dispute there one with another, 96 By Allah, we have indeed been in an error manifest. 97 when we assigned to you a position equal to that of the Lord of the Universe. 98 It was naught but the sinners that led us astray; 99 "'Now, then, we have none to intercede (for us), 100 Nor any loving friend. 101 Then if we only had a return [to the world] and could be of the believers... " 102 Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers. 103 Surely, Your Lord is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 104
