Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Inevitable! (Day of Judgment). 1 What is the Sure Reality? 2 And what could make thee conceive what that laying-bare of the truth will be? 3 The tribes of Thamud and 'Aad belied the Striking Day. 4 So as for Thamud, they were destroyed by the overpowering [blast]. 5 And as to Ad, they were destroyed by a roaring, violent blast. 6 Which Allah imposed on them for seven nights and eight days in succession, so that you could see men lying overthrown (destroyed), as if they were hollow trunks of date-palms! 7 Now dost thou see any remnant of them? 8 The Pharaoh, those who lived before him and the people of the Subverted Cities all persisted in doing evil. 9 And they disobeyed the Apostle of their Lord, so He punished them with a vehement punishment. 10 Lo! when the waters rose, We carried you upon the ship 11 as a lesson for you, but only attentive ears will retain it. 12 So when the Trumpet will be blown, with a sudden single blow. 13 the earth and mountains will be raised up high and crushed all together. 14 Then on that Day shall happen the Event. 15 And the heaven will split [open], for that Day it is infirm. 16 and the angels will stand on the sides, with eight of them bearing aloft the Throne of your Lord on that Day. 17 That Day, you will be exhibited [for judgement]; not hidden among you is anything concealed. 18 Then he who is given his record in his right hand will exclaim, "Here is my record, read it. 19 Surely I knew that I shall meet my account. 20 Then he shall be in a life well-pleasing 21 in a lofty Garden 22 its clusters nigh to gather. 23 (And told:) "Eat and drink to your fill as reward for (good) deeds you had done in days of yore." 24 And as for him who is given his book in his left hand he shall say: O would that my book had never been given me: 25 "And that I had never realised how my account (stood)! 26 Oh, would that it had been death! 27 “My wealth did not in the least benefit me.” 28 [and] all my power of argument has died away from me!" 29 [Allah will say], "Seize him and shackle him. 30 "And burn ye him in the Blazing Fire. 31 Then, in a chain whereof the length is seventy Cubits, bind him. 32 Lo! He used not to believe in Allah the Tremendous, 33 And urged not on the feeding of the wretched. 34 Today he has been left here friendless; 35 nor any food save the filth 36 which only the sinners eat". 37
