The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the heavens and al-tariq. 1 And what could make thee conceive what it is that comes in the night? 2 (It is) the Star of piercing brightness;- 3 [for] no human being has been left unguarded. 4 Let man consider what he was made of: 5 He is created from a water dripping, 6 Coming from between the back and the ribs. 7 Verily, (Allah) is Able to bring him back (to life)! 8 On a Day whereon secrets shall be out. 9 Then will (man) have no power, nor any helper. 10 By the heavens, ever-revolving, 11 And the earth which opens up (with verdure), 12 Verily, it is a discourse distinguishing. 13 and is not to be taken lightly. 14 Surely they will make a scheme, 15 And I plot a plot (against them). 16 Therefore give them some respite – give them some time. 17
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
