The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Proclaim! (or read!) in the name of thy Lord and Cherisher, Who created- 1 Created man from a clot. 2 Read - for thy Sustainer is the Most Bountiful One 3 who taught by the Pen, 4 Taught man what he knew not. 5 No indeed; surely Man waxes insolent, 6 that he sees himself sufficed. 7 Indeed towards your Lord only is the return. 8 What thinkest thou? He who forbids 9 a servant when he prays -- 10 Bethinkest thou, if he is himself guided, 11 or bade to godfearing -- 12 Do you see how he has denied the truth and turned away from it? 13 does he not know that Allah sees? 14 Let him beware! If he desist not, We will drag him by the forelock,- 15 A lying, sinning forelock. 16 So let him now call his gang! 17 We will now call the guards! 18 No indeed! Do not obey him, but prostrate yourself and come closer to God. ۩ 19
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
