Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By (the winds) that scatter dust. 1 and those that carry the burden [of heavy clouds,] 2 And those [ships] sailing with ease 3 and those that apportion [the gift of life] at [God's] behest! 4 surely that you are promised is true, 5 The Judgement will indeed take place. 6 By the heaven full of paths. 7 your ideas are confused. 8 He is turned away from it who would be turned away. 9 May the conjecturers perish, 10 they who blunder along, in ignorance lost 11 They ask: “When will the Day of Judgement be?” 12 It will be the Day when they shall be scourged by the Fire 13 "Taste ye your trial! This is what ye used to ask to be hastened!" 14 Surely those who guard (against evil) shall be in gardens and fountains. 15 Receiving what is given them by their Lord. They were surely the virtuous before this. 16 They used to sleep only a little during the night. 17 and asked for forgiveness in the early morning. 18 And in their property was a portion due to him who begs and to him who is denied (good). 19 There are signs in the earth for those who are firm in their faith, 20 As also in your own selves: Will ye not then see? 21 In the sky is your provision and that which you are promised. 22 Then, by the Lord of the heaven and the earth, it is the truth (i.e. what has been promised to you), just as it is the truth that you can speak. 23
