HAST THOU, then, ever considered him who turns away [from remembering Us, and cares for no more than the life of this world,] 33 And gave little, and then stopped? 34 Does he have knowledge of the hidden, so he can foresee? 35 Or, has he not been informed of what is in the scriptures of Musa? 36 And of Ibrahim (Abraham) who fulfilled (or conveyed) all that (what Allah ordered him to do or convey), 37 That no burdened person (with sins) shall bear the burden (sins) of another. 38 And that man will not obtain anything except what he strove for? 39 And that his effort will soon be scrutinised? 40 And afterward he will be repaid for it with fullest payment; 41 To your Lord will all things eventually return. 42 And that it is He (Allah) Who makes (whom He wills) laugh, and makes (whom He wills) weep; 43 It is He who causes death and gives life. 44 It is He who has created spouses, male and female, 45 From a sperm-drop when it is emitted 46 and that He will bring about the Second Creation; 47 That it is He Who giveth wealth and satisfaction; 48 that He is the Lord of Sirius, 49 and that He destroyed Ad, the ancient, 50 And Thamud (people). He spared none of them. 51 And also the people of Nuh aforetime. Verily they were even greater wrong-doers and more contumacious. 52 And He overthrew the Cities of the Plain, 53 and then covered them from sight forever. 54 Then which of thy Lord's bounties disputest thou? 55 This is a warner from the warners of ancient times. 56 The threatened Hour is nigh. 57 Of it, [from those] besides Allah, there is no remover. 58 Does this statement seem strange to them 59 And laugh and not weep? 60 And you are lost in play! 61 Prostrate yourselves before Allah, and serve Him. ۩ 62
