The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ When there happeneth the Event. 1 – and then there will be no one to deny its occurrence – 2 (it will) abase (some) and exalt (others). 3 When the earth shall be shaken to its depths, 4 and the mountains are shattered into [countless] shards, 5 So they will become like fine dust, scattered in a shaft of light. 6 You will become three categories: 7 Then (there will be) the Companions of the Right Hand;- What will be the Companions of the Right Hand? 8 And those on the left hand; how miserable shall those on the left hand be! 9 And those Foremost (in Faith) will be Foremost (in the Hereafter). 10 They shall be the nearest to God. 11 In gardens of tranquility; 12 A throng of the ancients, 13 and how few of the later folk) 14 On thrones decorated, 15 Reclining thereon, face to face. 16 Round about them will (serve) youths of perpetual (freshness), 17 With goblets, (shining) beakers, and cups (filled) out of clear-flowing fountains: 18 Whereby there shall be neither headiness nor will they be inebriated. 19 And with fruit from that which they choose. 20 and the flesh of birds, as they desire. 21 And there will be fair ones large eyed. 22 Like unto preserved pearls. 23 The reward for what they did. 24 They will not hear any useless speech in it, or any sin. 25 Except the word peace, peace. 26 And those on the Right Hand, Who will be those on the Right Hand? 27 (will be) among thornless Lote trees. 28 Among Talh trees with flowers (or fruits) piled one above another,- 29 and amid the extended shade 30 And water poured out 31 And fruit abundant. 32 never-ending and unrestricted, 33 And carpets raised. 34 Verily, We have created them (maidens) of special creation. 35 We have made them virgins, 36 Loving, equals in age, 37 with those who have attained to righteousness: 38
