The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Has there not been over man a period of time, when he was nothing to be mentioned? 1 Verily We created Man from a drop of mingled sperm, in order to try him: So We gave him (the gifts), of Hearing and Sight. 2 We showed him the way, whether he be grateful or ungrateful. 3 Surely We have prepared for the unbelievers chains and shackles and a burning fire. 4 Surely the devotees will drink cups flavoured with palm blossoms 5 a source [of bliss] whereof God's servants shall drink, seeing it flow in a flow abundant. 6 The servants of God fulfill their vows and are afraid of the day in which there will be widespread terror. 7 they give food, despite their love for it, to the poor and orphans and captives, 8 (Saying): "We feed you for the sake of God, desiring neither recompense nor thanks. 9 Surely we fear from our Lord a stern, distressful day. 10 So God has guarded them from the evil of that day, and has procured them radiancy and gladness, 11 And hath awarded them for all that they endured, a Garden and silk attire; 12 Reclining therein upon couches, they shall behold therein neither sun nor hurting cold. 13 And close upon them will be the shades thereof, and low will hang the clusters thereof greatly. 14 And there shall be made to go round about them vessels of silver and goblets which are of glass, 15 Clear glasses [made] from silver of which they have determined the measure. 16 There are they watered with a cup whereof the mixture is of Zanjabil, 17 From a fountain therein, named Salsabil. 18 ۞ They will be served by immortal youths who look like scattered pearls. 19 When you look around, you will see delights and great dominion. 20 In it they adorn clothes of fine green silk and gold embroidery; and they are given silver bracelets to wear; and their Lord gave them pure wine to drink. 21 Verily this is for you by way of recompense, and your endeavour hath been accepted. 22
