The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Woe to the diminishers, 1 who, when people measure for them, take full measure, 2 But if they measure unto them or weight for them, they cause them loss. 3 Imagine such men not that they shall be raised up? 4 On a Great Day, 5 when mankind will stand before the Lord of the Universe? 6 Indeed! The record of the wicked is in the Sijjin -- 7 And what will make you know what Sijjin is? 8 It is [their destination recorded in] a register inscribed. 9 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth 10 Who call the Day of judgement a lie! 11 for, none gives the lie to it but such as are wont to transgress against all that is [and are] immersed in sin: 12 When Our Verses (of the Quran) are recited to him he says: "Tales of the ancients!" 13 No. In fact what they have been doing has rusted their hearts. 14 Verily, from (the Light of) their Lord, that Day, will they be veiled. 15 and then they shall enter Hell, 16 It will then be said, “This is what you used to deny.” 17 Nay! Most surely the record of the righteous shall be in the Iliyin. 18 And what could make thee conceive what that mode most lofty will be? 19 a written record, 20 which those angels closest to God will bear witness to. 21 Verily the virtuous shall be in Delight, 22 upon couches gazing; 23 Thou wilt know in their faces the radiance of delight. 24 Their thirst will be slaked with Pure Wine sealed: 25 Its seal is upon musk; and for this should those who crave be eager. 26 And mixed with water of Tasnim, 27 a source [of bliss] whereof those who are drawn close unto God shall drink. 28 Verily! (During the worldly life) those who committed crimes used to laugh at those who believed. 29 And wink one to another when they passed them; 30 And when they returned to their own folk, they returned jesting; 31 And when they saw them, they said: "Verily! These have indeed gone astray!" 32 But they had not been sent as keepers over them! 33 But on the Day [of Judgment,] they who had attained to faith will [be able to] laugh at the [erstwhile] deniers of the truth: 34 while reclining on couches and reviewing (the bounties given to them). 35 Have the unbelievers been duly rewarded for their deeds? 36
