Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the winds that scatter the dust, 1 And those who bear the load (of rain), 2 then the easy runners (the ships); 3 Then by oath of those which distribute by the command. 4 What you are promised is certainly true: 5 And verily Judgment and Justice must indeed come to pass. 6 And by oath of the decorated heaven. 7 surely, you are in different sayings, 8 perverted in his views thereon is he who would deceive himself! 9 Woe to the falsehood-mongers,- 10 who flounder in the depths of ignorance. 11 They ask, "When will the Day of Judgement come?" 12 (It is) the day on which they shall be tried at the fire. 13 (And it will be said unto them): Taste your torment (which ye inflicted). This is what ye sought to hasten. 14 Surely the godfearing shall be among gardens and fountains 15 Taking joy in the things which their Lord has given them. Verily, they were before this Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 16 They used to sleep only a little during the night. 17 and asked for forgiveness in the early morning. 18 and sharing their possessions with the beggars and the deprived. 19 For those with sure belief there are signs in the earth, 20 And also in your ownselves. Will you not then see? 21 And in heaven is [the source of] your sustenance [on earth] and [of] all that you are promised [for your life after death]: 22 Then, by the Lord of heaven and earth, this is the very Truth, as much as the fact that ye can speak intelligently to each other. 23
