Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ The Inevitable Hour! 1 What is the Indubitable? 2 What makes you to know what the Resurrection Verifier is? 3 Thamood and Ad cried lies to the Clatterer. 4 Now as for the Thamud - they were destroyed by a violent upheaval [of the earth]; 5 The Ads were destroyed by a swift, destructive gale 6 He made it rage against them seven nights and eight days in succession: so that thou couldst see the (whole) people lying prostrate in its (path), as they had been roots of hollow palm-trees tumbled down! 7 Do you see any remnants of them? 8 The Pharaoh, those who lived before him and the people of the Subverted Cities all persisted in doing evil. 9 And they disobeyed the Apostle of their Lord, so He punished them with a vehement punishment. 10 Verily We! when the water rose, We bare you upon the traversing ark. 11 making it a Reminder for you, for all attentive ears to retain. 12 When a single blast is blown on the trumpet, 13 and the earth and the mountains are carried aloft and are crushed to bits at one stroke, 14 On that day, the inevitable event will take place 15 And the heaven will split asunder, for that day it will be frail. 16 The angels will stand on all its sides. And on that Day, eight (of them) will carry the Throne of your Lord above them. 17 On that Day you shall be exposed, and no secret of yours will remain hidden. 18 He who is given his ledger in his right hand, will say: "Here, read my ledger. 19 Surely I knew that I shall meet my account. 20 So he shall be in a pleasing life 21 In an elevated garden, 22 Whereof the clusters are in easy reach. 23 [They will be told], "Eat and drink in satisfaction for what you put forth in the days past." 24 But he who is given his record in his left hand will say, "If only I had never been given my Record 25 And not known my account! 26 "Ah! Would that (Death) had made an end of me! 27 My wealth has availed me nothing: 28 “All my power has vanished.” 29 'Take him, and fetter him, 30 Then in the Scorch roast him 31 then in a chain of seventy cubits' length insert him! 32 for he did not believe in Almighty God, 33 and he never urged the feeding of the needy; 34 Today he shall have no loyal friend here, 35 Nor any food save filth 36 “Which none except the guilty shall eat.” 37
