Nay, verily: By the Moon, 32 and by the night when it recedes, 33 and by the day when it dawns (with its radiance), 34 surely it is one of the greatest things 35 A warning to mortals, 36 whether one steps forward to embrace the faith or one turns away from it. 37 Every soul is pledged to what it does, 38 Except the Companions of the Right Hand. 39 who will be in Paradise 40 about the sinners. 41 “What took you into the hell?” 42 They will answer: "We did not fulfil our devotional obligations, 43 and neither did we feed the needy; 44 We used to wade (in vain dispute) with (all) waders, 45 and rejected the Day of Judgment 46 until certainty came upon us [in death]." 47 Then there will not profit them intercesion of the interceders. 48 Why then do they turn away from the admonition 49 as though they were frightened wild asses, 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 Nay, every man of them desires to be -- given -- scrolls unrolled. 52 No! But they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 No indeed; surely it is a Reminder; 54 and whoever wills may take it to heart. 55 But none will remember, unless Allah wills, He is the Owner of fear, the Owner of forgiveness. 56
