The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By those that pluck out vehemently 1 by the angels who gently release the souls of the believers, 2 And by those that swim along (i.e. angels or planets in their orbits, etc.). 3 and the outstrippers (angels), outstripping, 4 And direct affairs by command, 5 On the day when the trembling one will tremble. (The disbelievers will certainly taste the punishment.) 6 And the second followeth it, 7 hearts will throb on that Day 8 While eyes are downcast 9 [And yet,] some say: "What! Are we indeed to be restored to our former state 10 "Even after we are crumbled bones?" 11 They said, “So this return is an obvious loss!” 12 But all it will take is a single blast, 13 and then, lo, they will be fully awakened [to the truth]! 14 Hath there come unto thee the history of Moses? 15 Lo! His Sustainer called out to him in the twice-hallowed valley: 16 [saying], "Go to Pharaoh, he has exceeded all bounds, 17 Then say thou: wouldst thou to be purified? 18 ‘And I may guide you to your Lord, so that you may fear.’” 19 Moses showed him the great miracle 20 But he rejected (the truth) and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned his back, striving. 22 then, he gathered, proclaimed, 23 Then he said: I am your lord, the most high. 24 Allah therefore seized him, in the punishment of this world and the Hereafter. 25 Most surely there is in this a lesson to him who fears. 26
