The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
When the sun shall be darkened, 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 And when the hills are moved, 3 And when the she-camels big with young shall be abandoned, 4 And when the wild beasts are herded together, 5 when the seas are set boiling, 6 when the souls are coupled (to their body), 7 And when the girl-child who was buried alive is asked. 8 For what sin she was killed 9 And when the books are spread, 10 and when heaven is laid bare, 11 hell is made to blaze, 12 and Paradise is brought near, 13 [on that Day] every human being will come to know what he has prepared [for himself]. 14 I swear by the receding stars. 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 and sit during the day, or by the darkening night 17 And the breath of morning 18 Verily it is a Word brought by a messenger honoured, 19 The mighty, the honoured in the presence of the Lord of the Throne. 20 With authority there, (and) faithful to his trust. 21 And (O people!) your companion is not one possessed; 22 in truth he saw him (Gabriel) on the clear horizon, 23 And he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) withholds not a knowledge of the unseen. 24 And it (the Quran) is not the word of the outcast Shaitan (Satan). 25 Whither then go ye? 26 It is naught but a Reminder unto all beings, 27 For those of you who desire to walk the path that is straight, 28 but your wishing will not avail unless Allah, the Lord of the Universe, so wishes. 29
