And verily it is a revelation of the Lord of the worlds. 192 which the truthful spirit has carried down 193 to your heart that you might become one of those who warn (others on behalf of Allah), 194 In plain Arabic language. 195 And most surely the same is in the scriptures of the ancients. 196 Is it not a token for them that the doctors of the Children of Israel know it? 197 If We had revealed it to a nonArab, 198 and he had recited it to them, they would not have believed in it. 199 Thus have We inserted disbelief into the hearts of the criminals. 200 They will not believe it until they behold the painful punishment. 201 And it will come to them suddenly while they perceive [it] not. 202 and then they will exclaim, "Could we have a respite?" 203 So for Our punishment are they impatient? 204 Seest thou? If We do let them enjoy (this life) for a few years, 205 and then the chastisement of which they were being warned were to come upon them, 206 Of what avail shall their enjoyment be to them? 207 Never did We destroy a population, but had its warners - 208 for a reminder, and We never harmed. 209 And it is not the Shayatin (devils) who have brought it (this Quran) down, 210 it behoves them not, neither are they able. 211 verily, [even] from hearing it are they utterly debarred! 212 So call on no other god but God, lest you are condemned to torment; 213 And warn thy tribe of near kindred, 214 and spread the wings of thy tenderness over all of the believers who may follow thee; 215 If they disobey you, tell them, "I condemn your disobedient deeds". 216 And rely thou upon the Mighty, the Merciful. 217 Who seeth thee standing forth (in prayer), 218 and when thou turnest about among those who bow. 219 He is all-hearing and all-knowing. 220 Shall I tell you on whom the satans descend? 221 They descend on every lying (one who tells lies), sinful person. 222 The devils convey upon them what they heard, but most of them are liars. 223 As for the poets - it is the seduced who follow them. 224 hast thou not seen how they wander in every valley 225 And that they say what they practise not?- 226 Save those who believed and worked righteous works and remembered Allah much, and vindicated themselves after they had been wronged. And anon those who do wrong shall come to know with what a translating they shall be translated. 227
