3/4 Hizb 45
< random >
Noah had verily called to Us. And how gracious was He who answered (him). 75 And We saved him and his household from the great distress, 76 And We preserved his descendants. 77 and left for him among the later folk 78 Peace be unto Noah among the peoples! 79 Even so We recompense the good-doers; 80 Verily he was of Our bondmen believing. 81 Then afterwards We drowned the rest. 82 ۞ And Abraham indeed was of his inducement, 83 when he came unto his Lord with a pure heart, 84 When he said to his father and his people: "What is this you worship? 85 A lie-- gods besides Allah-- do you desire? 86 "Then what is your idea about the Lord of the worlds?" 87 He then shot a glance at the stars. 88 He then said, “I feel sick (of you)!” 89 All the people turned away from him 90 Then he turned to their gods, and said, 'What do you eat? 91 “What is the matter with you, that you do not say anything?” 92 And he turned upon them striking them with the right hand. 93 So they (people) advanced towards him, hastening. 94 He said, 'Do you serve what you hew, 95 "When God has created you and what you make?" 96 They exclaimed: "Build a pyre for him, and cast him into the blazing fire!" 97 But whereas they sought to do evil unto him, We [frustrated their designs, and thus] brought them low? 98 He said, "I will go to my Lord: He is sure to guide me. 99 My Lord! Bestow on me a son who will be of the righteous. 100 So We gave him the good news of a boy ready to suffer and forbear. 101 And when he reached the age when he could work with him, he said, "O my son, I have seen in a dream that I am sacrificing you. So tell me what you think of it!" He replied, "O my father, do as you are commanded; and God willing, you will find me steadfast." 102 So when they had both submitted their wills (to Allah), and he had laid him prostrate on his forehead (for sacrifice), 103 We called to him, "Abraham, 104 you have indeed fulfilled your dream. Thus do We reward the good-doers.” 105 Indeed this was a clear test. 106 We ransomed him with a great sacrifice, 107 and We preserved for him a good name among posterity. 108 Peace be on Abraham. 109 Thus, do We reward the righteous ones. 110 He was one of Our believing servants. 111 And [in time] We gave him the glad tiding of Isaac, [who, too, would be] a prophet, one of the righteous; 112 And We blessed him and Isaac. Among the offspring of the two some did good and some plainly wronged themselves. 113
