We indeed created man; and We know what his soul whispers within him, and We are nearer to him than the jugular vein. 16 When the two Receivers receive (him), seated on the right hand and on the left, 17 He does not utter a single word, without a ready recorder seated next to him. 18 The trance of death will come revealing the truth: that is what you were trying to escape. 19 And the Horn will be blown. That is the Day of [carrying out] the threat. 20 Each soul will come with a driver and a witness. 21 You were heedless of this, but now We have removed your veil, so your sight today is sharp. 22 And his Companion will say: "Here is (his Record) ready with me!" 23 [Allah will say], "Throw into Hell every obstinate disbeliever, 24 forbidder of good, transgressor and doubter, 25 who set up with God another god; therefore, you twain, cast him into the terrible chastisement.' 26 ۞ His companion will say: Our Lord! I did not lead him into inordinacy but he himself was in a great error. 27 He will say: Do not quarrel in My presence, and indeed I gave you the threatening beforehand: 28 My Word is not changed; and never do I inflict the least wrong upon My servants.” 29
