The News (Al-Naba')
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Of what do they question one another? 1 Is it about the awesome tiding 2 About which they differ? 3 Indeed they will come to know soon; 4 Nay, again, they will come to know! 5 Have We not made the earth as a cradle 6 The mountains tent-pins? 7 And We created you in pairs 8 and We made your sleep a rest, 9 and the night as a cover, 10 and made the day for earning a livelihood. 11 We raised over you several secure (skies), 12 and We appointed a blazing lamp 13 And do We not send down from the clouds water in abundance, 14 to make the seeds, plants, 15 And gardens dense and luxuriant. 16 Indeed the Day of Decision is a time fixed. 17 the Day that the Horn is blown, and you shall come in crowds 18 And the heaven is opened and becometh as gates, 19 and when the mountains are made to vanish as if they had been a mirage. 20 Hell will lie in wait (for its prey). 21 It will be a place of return 22 They will tarry therein for ages. 23 They shall not taste therein cool nor drink 24 Except boiling water and benumbing cold: 25 Reward proportioned (to their evil deeds). 26 For verily, they used not to look for a reckoning. 27 But they belied Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, and that which Our Prophet (Peace be upon him) brought) completely. 28 And We have kept recorded everything in a Book, accounted for. 29 (They will be told), "Suffer, We shall only increase the torment for you". 30
