The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
(On the day) when the sun is made to cease shining, 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 The mountains made to move, 3 And when the pregnant she-camels shall be neglected; 4 And when the wild animals are made to go forth, 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 when the souls are divided into different classes, 7 And when the girl-child that was buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was slain. 9 And when the pages are laid open, 10 The curtain drawn back from the skies, 11 And when hell is further enflamed. 12 And when the Garden is brought near;- 13 then, each soul shall know what it has produced. 14 So, I call the receding stars to witness, 15 That run their course (and) hide themselves, 16 And the Night as it dissipates; 17 And the Dawn as it breathes away the darkness;- 18 truly this is the word of a noble Messenger 19 Owner of strength, of established dignity with the Lord of the Throne. 20 The one who is obeyed, and trustworthy. (Other angels obey angel Jibreel). 21 And your companion is not insane. 22 Surely he beheld Him on the clear horizon. 23 And he is of the unseen not a tenacious concealer. 24 The Quran is not the word of condemned satan. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 It is nothing but Good Counsel for everyone in the world, 27 For whoever wills among you to take a right course. 28 And you will not, unless (it be) that Allah wills, the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 29
