The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the night enshrouding 1 And by the day as it appears in brightness; 2 And by Him Who created male and female; 3 That your endeavour is for different ends. 4 Then as for him who gives away and guards (against evil), 5 And believed the best matter to be true 6 We shall surely ease him to the Easing. 7 But as for him who is niggardly, and thinks that he is self-sufficient, 8 and he belied the finest 9 We will make smooth for him the path for evil; 10 And what will his wealth avail him when he falls? 11 Lo! Ours it is (to give) the guidance 12 and to Us belong the Last and the First. 13 I have warned you then about a raging Fire: 14 None except the most wicked will enter it. 15 The one who denied and turned away. 16 He will be far away from the most pious. (The first Caliph S. Abu Bakr Siddiq) 17 one who gives his wealth to become purified, 18 And no one has with him any boon for which he should be rewarded, 19 only seeking the Face of his Lord the Most High; 20 And soon will they attain (complete) satisfaction. 21
True are the words of God the Almighty.
