Observedest thou him who turned away? 33 And gave a little, then stopped (giving)? 34 Or, does he possess knowledge of the Unseen, and can therefore see? 35 Or is he not informed with what is in the Pages (Scripture) of Musa (Moses), 36 And of Ibrahim, who was most obedient? 37 That no laden one shall bear another's load, 38 And that man can have nothing but what he does (good or bad). 39 That (the fruit of) his striving will soon come in sight: 40 and that he shall then be fully recompensed, 41 And that to your Lord (Allah) is the End (Return of everything). 42 And that it is He Who made (you) laugh and made (you) cry? 43 and that He it is Who causes death and grants life, 44 And that He createth the two spouses, the male and the female, 45 From a seed when lodged (in its place); 46 That the second creation is incumbent on Him; 47 and that it is He alone who frees from want and causes to possess; 48 And that He (Allah) is the Lord of Sirius (the star which the pagan Arabs used to worship); 49 that He it is Who destroyed the ancient 'Ad, 50 and Thamud tribes, 51 and before them the people of Noah who were even more unjust and insolent; 52 and the Subverted City He also overthrew, 53 And covered them by that which He covered. 54 Which then of thy Lord's benefits wilt thou doubt? 55 This is a warner of the warners of old. 56 There hath approached the approaching Hour. 57 None but God can avert it. 58 Do you then wonder at this announcement? 59 Why do you laugh rather than weep? 60 While you are proudly sporting? 61 But fall ye down in prostration to Allah, and adore (Him)! ۩ 62
