The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
(Muhammad), read in the name of your Lord who created (all things). 1 created the human from a (blood) clot. 2 Proclaim! And thy Lord is Most Bountiful,- 3 Who taught by the pen - 4 taught the human what he did not know. 5 No! [But] indeed, man transgresses 6 In that he looketh upon himself as self-sufficient. 7 However, (all things) will return to your Lord. 8 Have you seen one who prevents 9 a worshiper when he prays. 10 What thinkest thou? If he were upon guidance 11 Or enjoineth piety? 12 Tell me if he (the disbeliever, Abu Jahl) denies (the truth, i.e. this Quran), and turns away? 13 Does he not know that God sees? 14 No indeed; surely, if he gives not over, We shall seize him by the forelock, 15 a lying, sinful forelock. 16 Then let him summon his council, 17 We shall summon the guards of Hell. 18 No indeed! Do not obey him, but prostrate yourself and come closer to God. ۩ 19
Almighty God's Truth.
