Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ NAY! I call to witness the Day of Resurrection! 1 And I swear by the self-reproaching person (a believer). 2 Does man think We shall not put his bones together? 3 Yea! WE are Able to put together evenly his finger-tips. 4 But man would fain deny what is before him. 5 He asks: “When will the Day of Resurrection be?” 6 So when the sight becomes dazed, 7 The moon eclipsed, 8 And the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 On that day man will cry: Whither to flee! 10 By no means! No place of safety! 11 On that day, the station is only towards your Lord. 12 On that Day, man will be told of all that he has sent before and what he has left behind. 13 He shall be a clear proof against himself, 14 Although he may put forth his pleas. 15 Move not thy tongue with it to hasten it; 16 Ours it is to gather it, and to recite it. 17 So, when We recite it, follow thou its recitation. 18 then it will be for Us to explain it. 19 No indeed; but you love the hasty world, 20 And you have forsaken the Hereafter. 21 Countenances on that Day shall be resplendent, 22 Looking at their Lord (Allah); 23 and upon that day faces shall be scowling, 24 Expecting that there will be done to them [something] backbreaking. 25 NAY, but when [the last breath] comes up to the throat [of a dying man,] 26 And it will be said: "Who can cure him and save him from death?" 27 And he (the dying person) will conclude that it was (the time) of departing (death); 28 And one shank is entangled with the other shank. 29 On that day, the herding will be only towards your Lord. 30
