The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By oath of those who harshly pull out the soul. (Of the disbeliever) 1 and those that draw out violently, 2 and float [through space] with floating serene, 3 Then press forward as in a race, 4 And direct affairs by command, 5 On the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world], 6 and will be followed by the second one, 7 (Some) hearts that Day will shake with fear and anxiety. 8 and their eyes shall be humbled. 9 They say, "What? shall we be brought back to life, 10 Even after we are crumbled bones? 11 They say: that then shall be a losing return. 12 However, it will only take a single blast 13 and behold! They will all come out in the open. 14 Has the story of Moses reached thee? 15 When his Lord called upon him in the holy valley, twice, 16 Go to Firon, surely he has become inordinate. 17 and say: "Will you purify yourself, 18 And let me guide you to your Lord so you would fear [Him]?'" 19 And he showed him the greatest sign, 20 In response, he denied and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 And he summoned all his people, 23 and said, "I am your Lord All-Highest!" 24 Thereupon Allah seized him for the chastisement of the World to Come as well as of the present. 25 Most surely there is in this a lesson to him who fears. 26
