He Frowned ('Abasa)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ (The Prophet) frowned and turned away, 1 that the blind man came to him. 2 And what would make you know that he would purify himself, 3 Or be admonished, and the admonition profit him? 4 Now as for him who believes himself to be self-sufficient 5 To him do you address yourself. 6 And you have nothing to lose if he does not become pure. 7 As for the one who comes to you earnestly (striving for guidance). 8 And he feareth 9 From him you are distracted. 10 No indeed; this is only a Reminder. 11 Let him who will, pay heed to it. 12 It is set down on honoured pages, 13 exalted, purified, 14 By the hands of scribes. 15 noble and virtuous scribes. 16 Perish Man! How unthankful he is! 17 From what thing doth He create him? 18 Out of a sperm-drop did He create him and then determined a measure for him, 19 He makes his path easy for him. 20 and in the end He causes him to die and brings him to the grave; 21 Then, when it is His Will, He will resurrect him (again). 22 Not one – he has not yet completed what he was commanded. 23 Let man, then, consider [the sources of] his food: 24 How We poured down water in torrents, 25 then We split the earth in fissures 26 Then We cause to grow therein the grain, 27 together with grapes and vegetables, 28 And olive and palm trees 29 and dense-tree'd gardens, 30 fruits, and grass. 31 for you and for your animals to enjoy. 32 When the trumpet sounds, 33 upon the day when a man shall flee from his brother, 34 And his mother and his father 35 his consort, his sons, 36 on that Day every man among them will have enough concern of his own -- 37 Some faces will shine, 38 laughing and joyous 39 And many a face will be covered with dust on that day. 40 Dust shall cover them 41 It is they, the disbelievers, the sinners. 42
