Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Has the news of the overwhelming event reached you? 1 On that Day, there shall be downcast faces, 2 Labouring (hard), weary,- 3 Entering into burning fire, 4 They will be given to drink from a boiling spring, 5 No food will there be for them but a bitter Dhari' 6 Which neither nourishes nor avails against hunger. 7 However, on that day the faces of other people will be happy. 8 Rejoicing over their efforts. 9 In a lofty Paradise. 10 Where they hear no idle speech, 11 Therein shall be a spring running! 12 raised couches, 13 and goblets set forth 14 And cushions ranged 15 And carpets ready spread, 16 Do they not look at the Camels, how they are made?- 17 And how the heaven was raised up, 18 how the mountains were hoisted, 19 And the earth, how it is spread? 20 (Muhammad), preach; you are only a preacher. 21 You are not a watcher over them; 22 Except whoever turns away and disbelieves – 23 Then Allah will punish him with the greatest punishment. 24 Verily, to Us will be their return; 25 and verily, It is for Us to call them to account. 26
