And recount to them the story of Abraham: 69 When he said to his father and his people, “What do you worship?” 70 They said, "We worship idols and will continue to cling to them." 71 He asked: "Do they hear you when you call them 72 or do they profit you, or harm?' 73 They said: "No. But we found our fathers doing so." 74 He said: See now that which ye worship, 75 You and your fathers? 76 Lo! they are (all) an enemy unto me, save the Lord of the Worlds, 77 who created me, and Himself guides me, 78 And it is He who feeds me and gives me drink. 79 And when I sicken, then He healeth me. 80 He will cause me to die and will bring me back to life. 81 and who, [hope, will forgive me my faults on Judgment Day! 82 My Lord! Bestow Hukman (religious knowledge, right judgement of the affairs and Prophethood) on me, and join me with the righteous; 83 And ordain for me a goodly mention among posterity 84 and make me of those who will inherit the Garden of Bliss, 85 And forgive my father, verily he is of the erring; 86 And abase me not on the day when they are raised, 87 on the Day of Judgment when neither wealth nor children will be of any benefit 88 except for him who comes to God with a pure heart. 89 "To the righteous, the Garden will be brought near, 90 And the hell shall be made manifest to the erring ones, 91 "And it shall be said to them: 'Where are the (gods) ye worshipped- 92 Other than God? Can they save you or even save themselves?" 93 Then the idols and those who strayed will be hurled into the Fire headlong, one upon another, 94 and the hosts of iblis all together. 95 And they will say while they dispute with one another, 96 "By God, we were most obviously astray 97 when we made you equal with the Lord of the Worlds. 98 No one but the sinners led us astray. 99 So now we have no intercessors 100 no loyal friend. 101 Would that we could have a chance to live again so that we might become believers." 102 Surely, in that there is a sign, yet most of them do not believe. 103 And verily, your Lord! He is truly the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful. 104
