And when the angels said: O Mary! Lo! Allah hath chosen thee and made thee pure, and hath preferred thee above (all) the women of creation. 42 O Mary! Be obedient to thy Lord, prostrate thyself and bow with those who bow (in worship). 43 This is part of the tidings of the things unseen, which We reveal unto thee (O Messenger!) by inspiration: Thou wast not with them when they cast lots with arrows, as to which of them should be charged with the care of Mary: Nor wast thou with them when they disputed (the point). 44 Recall what time the angels said: Maryam! verily Allah announceth unto thee a word from Him: his name shall be the Masih, Isa, son of Maryam, illustrious in the world and the Hereafter and one of those brought nigh. 45 "He will speak to the people in the cradle and in manhood, and he will be one of the righteous." 46 She said: my Lord! in what wise shall there be unto me a son whereas no human being hath touched me. Allah said: even so. Allah createth whatsoever He will. When He hath decreed a thing, He only saith to it: Be, and it becometh; 47 And He will teach him the Scripture and wisdom, and the Torah and the Gospel, 48 And he will be Apostle to the children of Israel, (saying:) 'I have come to you with a prodigy from your Lord that I will fashion the state of destiny out of mire for you, and breathe (a new spirit) into it, and (you) will rise by the will of God. I will heal the blind and the leper, and infuse life into the dead, by the leave of God. I will tell you what you devour and what you hoard in your homes. In this will be a portent for you if you do believe. 49 And (I come) confirming that which was before me of the Torah, and to make lawful some of that which was forbidden unto you. I come unto you with a sign from your Lord, so keep your duty to Allah and obey me. 50 God is my Lord as well as yours. Worship Him for this is the right path." 51 ۞ And when Jesus perceived their unbelief, he said, 'Who will be my helpers unto God?' The Apostles said, 'We will be helpers of God; we believe in God; witness thou our submission. 52 They prayed, "Lord, we have believed in what You have revealed to Your Messenger and we have followed him. Write down our names with those who testify in support of the Truth." 53 And (the unbelievers) plotted and planned, and Allah too planned, and the best of planners is Allah. 54
