Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ Blest be He in whose hand is the dominion, and He is over everything Potent. 1 It is He who has created death and life to put you to the test and see which of you is most virtuous in your deeds. He is Majestic and All-forgiving. 2 who created the seven heavens, one above the other. You cannot see any inconsistency in the creation of the Merciful. Return your gaze, do you see any crack! 3 Look twice (and keep on looking), your eyes will only become dull and tired. 4 We have adorned the lower heaven with lamps, and have made them a means to drive away the satans. We have prepared for them the chastisement of the Blazing Fire. 5 And for those who disbelieve in their Lord there is the doom of hell, a hapless journey's end! 6 When they are cast into it, they will hear its roaring as it boils up, 7 It almost bursts up with fury. Every time a group is cast therein, its keeper will ask: "Did no warner come to you?" 8 They will say," Yes, a warner had come to us, but we denied and said, 'Allah has not sent down anything. You are not but in great error.'" 9 They will also say, "Had We listened or used our minds, we would not have become the dwellers of hell". 10 So now they admit their sins! Therefore accursed be the people of hell! 11 As for those who fear their Lord unseen, for them is Forgiveness and a great Reward. 12 Whether you say a thing secretly or openly, He knows the innermost secrets of your hearts. 13 Does He who created not know, while He is the Subtle, the Acquainted? 14
