He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away 1 Because there came to him the blind man (interrupting). 2 What could inform thee but that he might grow (in grace) 3 Or take heed and so the reminder might avail him? 4 As for him who is not in want of any thing, 5 Unto him thou payest regard. 6 though it is not thy concern, if he does not cleanse himself. 7 And he who comes to thee eagerly 8 and fears (Allah), 9 of him you were unmindful. 10 By no means! Verily it is an admonition. 11 (and whoso wills, shall remember it) 12 in [the light of His] revelations blest with dignity, 13 most exalted and purified, 14 In the hands of scribes 15 and angelic scribes. 16 May (the disbelieving) human being be condemned! What makes him disbelieve? 17 Of what thing hath He created him? 18 From Nutfah (male and female semen drops) He created him, and then set him in due proportion; 19 Then eased the way for him. 20 and in the end He causes him to die and brings him to the grave; 21 Then when He wills, He will resurrect him. 22 But no. He has not fulfilled what was enjoined on him. 23 So let man just consider his food: 24 We poured water, pouring it in great abundance, 25 Then We split the earth properly. 26 And We cause therein the grain to grow, 27 grapes, and fresh fodder, 28 and olive trees and date-palms, 29 And dense gardens, 30 And fruits and fodder: 31 [As] enjoyment for you and your grazing livestock. 32 So when the deafening Shout arrives, 33 it will be such a day when a person will run away from his brother, 34 And his mother and his father, 35 wife and sons, 36 on that Day each will be occupied with his own business, making him oblivious of all save himself. 37 On that day faces will be bright as dawn, 38 Laughing, rejoicing at good news. 39 And faces on that Day! upon them shall be gloom. 40 enveloped by darkness. 41 Those are the disbelievers, the wicked. 42

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
