The Night (Al-Layl)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the night as it envelops; 1 By the day when it appeareth in glory, 2 And Him Who hath created male and female, 3 Indeed, your efforts are diverse. 4 As for he who gives and fears Allah 5 for those who spend for the cause of God, 6 We will ease him toward ease. 7 And for him who hoarded wealth and remained carefree, 8 and he belied the finest 9 We will ease him toward difficulty. 10 And his substance will avail him not when he perisheth. 11 Verify on us is the guidance 12 And to Us belong the End and the Beginning. 13 and so I warn you of the raging fire 14 None will [enter to] burn therein except the most wretched one. 15 He who denieth and turneth away. 16 He will be far away from the most pious. (The first Caliph S. Abu Bakr Siddiq) 17 he that spends his possessions [on others] so that he might grow in purity 18 And who hath no favour from anyone to recompense. 19 Except the seeking of the pleasure of his Lord, the Most High. 20 and the reward (of their Lord) will certainly make them happy. 21
