۞ When the son of Mary is mentioned as an example, your people turn away from it 57 And they said, "Are your gods better, or is he?" They did not present the comparison except for [mere] argument. But, [in fact], they are a people prone to dispute. 58 He is naught but a bondman: him We favoured, and him We made an ensample unto the Children of Israil. 59 If We pleased We could have put angels in place of you as trustees on the earth. 60 AND, BEHOLD, this [divine writ] is indeed a means to know [that] the Last Hour [is bound to come]; hence, have no doubt whatever about it, but follow Me: this [alone] is a straight way. 61 do not let Satan bar your way. He is truly your sworn enemy. 62 When Jesus came with the signs, he said: "I have come to you with authority, and to explain some thing about which you are at variance. So fear God, and follow me. 63 God is your Lord and my Lord, so worship Him. This is the right path". 64 The various factions among them differed -- woe then to those who did wrong: they will suffer the punishment of a painful Day. 65 Do they wait for aught but the hour, that it should come! upon them all of a sudden while they do not perceive? 66 On that Day close friends shall become enemies of each other, except those who fear (Allah). 67
