The Mountain (Al-Toor)
49 verses, revealed in Mecca after Prostration (Al-Sajdah) before Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the Mount (of Revelation); 1 And a Scripture inscribed 2 in an exposed parchment 3 By the much-frequented Fane; 4 And [by] the heaven raised high 5 and by the swelling sea: 6 VERILY, [O man,] the suffering decreed by thy Sustainer [for the sinners] will indeed come to pass: 7 there is no one who could avert it, 8 (It shall come to pass) on the Day when the heaven will convulse in a great convulsion, 9 and the mountains move, moving. 10 Woe on that Day to those who deny the truth, 11 Who play in talk of grave matters; 12 That Day shall they be thrust down to the Fire of Hell, irresistibly. 13 This is the Fire which ye were wont to believe. 14 Was it, then, a delusion or is it that you failed to see [its truth]? 15 Go now and burn in it. It is all the same whether you bear it patiently or do not bear it with patience. You are only being recompensed for your deeds.” 16 Surely those who guard (against evil) shall be in gardens and bliss 17 Delighted at the bestowal of their Lord; and their Lord has saved them from the fire. 18 (And it is said unto them): Eat and drink in health (as a reward) for what ye used to do, 19 reclining on couches [of happiness] ranged in rows!" And [in that paradise] We shall mate them with companions pure, most beautiful of eye. 20 And (as for) those who believe and their offspring follow them in faith, We will unite with them their offspring and We will not diminish to them aught of their work; every man is responsible for what he shall have wrought. 21 And We shall bestow on them fruit and meat in abundance - whatever they may desire: 22 In it, they accept cups from each other, in which is neither any lewdness nor any sin. 23 ۞ And there will go round boy-servants of theirs, to serve them as if they were preserved pearls. 24 And some of them draw near unto others, questioning, 25 They will say: verily we were aforetime, midst our household, ever in dread. 26 and God was gracious to us, and guarded us against the chastisement of the burning wind; 27 Lo! we used to pray unto Him of old. Lo! He is the Benign, the Merciful. 28

Notes and Instructions
When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
